This memorial is a center piece of a larger complex which is located in the central region of Washington DC which built in commemoration of the soldiers who lost their lives in the Vietnam War and those who were unaccounted for. It contains a huge wall which has inscribed on it, all the names of the people who lost their lives in the war. This is one of the most popular tourist spots in the city.
It is associated with two other monuments namely the Three soldiers memorial and the Women's memorial which is in remembrance to all the women who served in Vietnam.
