The bronze memorial weighed about 4 tons was unveiled on 22nd April, 1979 in honor of centenary of Albert Einstein's birth. Albert Einstein's statue was designed by Robert Berks, a sculptor who is better known for portrait busts of John F Kennedy at Kennedy Center. While the memorial landscaping was designed by landscape architect, James A Van Sweden. To support this gigantic sculpture three caissons weighing totally of 135 tons were sunk into bed rock to depths of 23 - 25 feet.

Another interesting feature of this memorial is that whenever a visitor standing in middle of stage facing scientist, were to say something then he would listen to an acoustic echo. But if he were to move to other locations this particular won't be felt. This is one of the things that keep youngsters occupied till they get tired.
