The history of the National Museum of Women In The Arts dates back to the 1980s when Mr. and Mrs. Holladay while on a tour came across a portrait which was drawn by the 17th century Flemish artist Clara Peters. This was when the couple, mesmerized by the life and works of Clara Peters decided to dedicate a museum that could serve to showcase the role of women in taking forward the artistic endeavour that the United States of America is so proud to call its own today.

Located on the New York Avenue, N.W., the National Museum of Women In The Arts remains open on each of the days of the month.
