This memorial, situated near the Jefferson Memorial, is a tribute to both a president and an era. The Park that houses the memorial also has pools and waterfalls. A statue of Eleanor Roosevelt, the First Lady, has also been erected in the park.

Another major attraction is Thomas Jefferson Memorial. This monument is surrounded by lots of Yoshino cherry trees. This was modeled after Rome's Pantheon and was designed by John Russell Pope. Inside the memorial the visitors can see some of the quotations of Jefferson's writings.

The National World War II Memorial is another spectacular tourist spot. It was opened in 2004 after 17 years of planning and 3 years of construction. There is a rainbow pool. Around the pool a wall of 4048 stars is situated. Each of the stars represents 100 American soldiers who lost their lives in the war.
