Georgetown University enjoys the status of being the oldest catholic University in the United States with its main campus located in Washington DC. The university runs 4 undergraduate schools, three professional and graduate schools and many specialized institutes. Over 180 programs are offered by various schools and colleges of the university.
The institutes of the university include the Georgetown College, School of Nursing and Health Studies, Walsh School of Foreign Service, McDonough School of Business, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, School of Medicine, School of Continuing Studies and Law Center.
A range of academic programs can be found at various campuses of the Georgetown University. Some of the popular education programs include biomedical and health sciences, business and economics, languages and linguistics, literature and cultural studies, law and politics, social sciences, science, mathematics and technology, philosophy, religious studies and visual and performing arts.
The university also facilitates international studying by offering overseas study opportunities to its students. The international students too are welcomed by the university to join any of the programs available with it. More than 18,000 applications are received by the university from the students interested in taking admission to one of the programs. Around 3,300 students are admitted to various programs per year.
A restrictive Early Action admissions procedure is followed by the university. SAT scores are considered by the university, though the written part of SAT is not considered for the admission to the university. Financial aid in the form of grants and scholarships is available for the students taking admission with the university.
