Lake Fairfax Park is one of the best places near Washington DC to have unlimited family fun. The park has an 18-acre lake as one of its main highlights. There are many camping sites offered by the campgrounds of the park. One family camping site in the park allows 7 people and 2 tents at a time. An amphitheater is available near the campgrounds and grills, picnic tables and fire rings are the facilities available at each of the camping sites. Bathhouse, hot showers, car parking and public phone are among other facilities each camping site offers.

The Water Mine is another attraction for the families visiting the park. The outdoor swimming pool spread over an acre is popular for offering slides, showers and many types of interactive play features. A mountain structure with mine shafts and tunnels is among the best spots for kids.

Many family picnic sites occupy the Lake Fairfax Park. These sites consist of huge shelters, seating facilities, tables and grills. You can hire one of this sites for half or full day, but advance booking is required.
