The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial which is a presidential memorial dedicated to the memory of U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial was designed by architect, Lawrence Halprin.

The memorial is located on the Western edge of the Tidal Basin along the famous Cherry Tree Walk near the National Mall. This memorial also represents the era, to which Franklin Delano Roosevelt belongs. The FDR memorial is vast, focused and uncovered with numerous statues, shade trees, waterfalls and quotes.

The memorial is a sequence of four outdoor galleries, or rooms, each one devoted to one of Franklin Delano Roosevelt terms of office. The rooms are designed by walls of red South Dakota granite; quotations from FDR are carved into the granite and by ornamental plantings. The spirit of this great man is conveyed by each of the four rooms. Throughout the memorial quiet pools and water cascades are present. At the beginning of the memorial there is a 10-foot statue with FDR seated in a wheelchair and a bas-relief depicts him riding in a car during his first inaugural.

The first room showcases FDR's early presidency and exhibits a relief sculpture depicting his first inauguration. The second room exhibits sculptural groups - a rural couple, an urban breadline, and a man listening to a fireside chat. Economic programs and New Deal social programs are also depicted in bronze panels. In the third room, FDR appears as a seated figure with his beloved dog Fala, sitting nearby. The fourth room honors the legacy and life of FDR.
