When the house was built in 1723 for one Mister William Tyler, the estate was named as Battersea, which changed to Harmony Hall after a few years of occupation by two brothers and their wives. The harmonious existence between the two couples, which is often understood as an unfamiliar disposition in families, happened to be the root cause for it being named Harmony Hall amongst the people in the region.
