This circle is situated at the junction of New Hampshire Avenue NW, Massachusetts Avenue NW, Connecticut Avenue NW, 19th Street NW, and P Street NW.

This circle is served at the Dupont Circle Metro Station by Washington Metro Red Line. Two entrances are: south of the Dupont circle at 19th Street NW and north of the Dupont circle at Q Street NW. This circle is the heart of Washington, DC's nightlife. Near this circle you can find historic homes, foreign embassies, and finest museums, bookstores, restaurants, and art galleries.

There are residential buildings which are high-priced and most of the row houses have been transformed to apartments. The Circle has been a gathering place for the college students, tourist with grass, park benches, and a fountain in the center.

Dupont Circle has the some of the most prestigious research institutions in the nation, including The Eurasia Center, and Brookings Institution. The nation's first museum of modern art, is located near the circle, known as The Phillips Collection, featuring the world famous giant festive canvas Luncheon of the Boating Party by Renoir. This Circle also has the Original Founding Church of Scientology. Near the Dupont Circle you can also find hotels like Hotel Rouge, Westin Fairfax Hotel, Hotel Tabard Inn, Topaz Hotel and Churchill Hotel.

Some of the major attractions near the circle are Woodrow Wilson House, National Museum of American Jewish Military History, Brew master's Castle, The Cathedral of Saint Matthew, and Embassy Row.
