Washington Navy Yard: naval military base in Washington, DC

Washington Navy Yard is one of the naval military based in Washington, DC which is governed by Department of the Navy. This naval base was established in 1799 which has late Victorian and Colonial Revival architectural styles. Today it is US Navy's oldest shore establishment that serves administrative and ceremonial center of US Navy.

The naval base is home for Naval Historical Center, Marine Corps Institute, Naval Reactors, US Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps and other commands. During 1973 the naval bases was enlisted into National Register of Historic Places and then designated as National historic landmark on 11th May, 1976. The yard has served for numerous scientific research and developments.
