The Washington, DC is believed to have none of its resident indigenous population left in the city but, this is considered just a delusion which has been perpetuated owing to its capital image. Also, the eclectic mix of population in the city has led to speculations of the city being devoid of the native residents. But it is not so. Washington, DC houses several of its indigenous population even today. The black population is the dominant sect in the city, but its number has been slowly declining with more and more African - Americans moving out of the city and the percentage of whites has been on the rise.
