
Washington DC: what is the city's culture fabric in today's day and age
The cultural fabric of the city is woven with the thread of politics. The Federal Government is the highest seat of power in the United States and with that situated here the city is buzzing with political events the year around.
The United States Congress consists of the Senate and the House of Representatives and meets in the US Capitol in Washington DC. The Senate is the upper house and the House of Representatives is the lower house.

Washington has had a significant African-American population since the city's creation. This is largely due to its being a border city. Several D.C. neighborhoods are well-noted for their contributions to black history and culture.
