The metro in Washington, DC operates connecting to Maryland suburbs and Virginia. The metro has 86 lines of different colors each of which indicate a route to another. The orange line has links to federal triangle station and Smithsonian station. They have rapid transit stations connecting to Maryland Prince George's county and Fairfax County along with Arlington and Virginia.

The union station is another sub-station which is linked to Washington, DC metro subway. It is way out to the museum and memorials. All the metro lines except red have several intersection points to transfer from one to another easily. The blue and yellow lines intersect and they show a way out to Virginia.
