Interstate 66 or I-66 is one of the interstate highways which is about 76.2 miles long interconnecting Washington, DC with Middletown, VA. This interstate highway doesn't have any historical or physical connection with US Route 66. Due to the heavy commuter traffic, the highway features HOV i.e. high occupancy vehicle lanes at different degrees.

In Washington, DC this route goes after West leg of freeway named as Inner Loop. But after crossing Potomac River on Theodore Roosevelt Bridge the route turns towards north and separates from US 50.

This two digit interstate highway is the only one highway that enters into District of Columbia. The major junctions in this highway are Middletown, Marshall, Gainesville, Fairfax and Arlington.

Crystal City VA is a city which is located within 10 miles of Washington DC. Being located in the Eastern Standard Time Zone i.e. EST, it falls under Day Light Saving Time. It is situated at the south eastern corner of Arlington County which is just south of downtown Washington DC. This city centers along Jefferson Davis Highway.

It is also located south of Pentagon, and east of Pentagon City. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is situated just west of the city. It is well known as an urban village, but the city has innumerable high rising apartments, hotels, restaurants, corporate buildings, shops, movie theaters. It is an ideal place to do some shopping as there are extensive shopping malls here.

You can find a station of Crystal City on the Washington Metro Blue, Virginia Railway Express commuter train system and Yellow Lines. United States Patent and Trademark Office was situated here till mid-2005. It has offices of defense contractors, satellites offices, and the United States Department of Labor.
