Interstate Highway That Connects Washington, DC with Springfield, VA
Interstate 395 or I-395 is an interstate highway which is about 21km long interconnecting Springfield, VA with Washington, DC. This interstate highway passes under National Mall and terminates at New York Avenue junction of US Highway 50. The highway intersects both I-95 and Capital Beltway at a junction which is named as Springfield Interchange.
This highway features high occupancy vehicle (HOV) facility separated by barriers and reversible during peak of rush hours. The highway is regarded as express lanes by locals and it has own exit and entrance points. During the rush hours the HOV facility operates only in direction of rush hour and highway is restricted for vehicles with 3 or more passengers.
