Were there any known incidents of discrimination against the Native Indian population in Washington DC
The history of US is sadly marked with discrimination against the native Indian population who had been the inhabitants of the land before Christopher Columbus discovered America and put it on the world map. In the public places they were openly discriminated and insulted.
As these Indians fought back to save their culture, their identity and their dignity, conflicts between them and the federal government emerged. Out of these conflicts the Wounded Knee incident is the notable one.
