- Black - 55.6%

- White - 36.3%

- Hispanic - 8.3%

- Others (Native Americans, Hawaiians, Alaskans, Pacific Islanders) - 5%

- Asian - 3.1%

- Mixed - 1.6%

In spite of the black population dominating the charts, records show steady decline among the black population in the city owing to several African Americans moving out of the city.
