Blair House is the official state guest house for the President of the United States and is located at Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington D.C., constructed in 1926.D.C. Francis Preston Blair was a journalist from Frankfort, and his editorials attracted the attention of the President Andrew Jackson. Therefore President Andrew Jackson invited Blair and his family to move to Washington and made him the editor of his newspaper the Globe. Francis Preston Blair and his wife Eliza along with their three children moved to Washington and took up a residence in the home, which is now popularly known as the Blair House.

Blair House is a combination of the original home of Francis Preston Blair and three other townhouses. This complex is larger than the White House with a total area of 70,000 ft2 with 119 rooms, 8 staff bedrooms,14 guest bedrooms,4 dining rooms,35 bathrooms, kitchen facilities, dry cleaning and laundry facilities, hair saloon, an exercise room, and a flower shop.

The rooms in the Blair House include Blair House Library, Blair Rear Drawing Room, Lee Dining Room, Jackson Place Conference Room, Jackson Place Sitting Room, Lincoln Room, and Truman Study.

The Blair House Library includes many books, both American and from other countries. The Blair Rear Drawing Room is a comfortable sitting room and contains the oldest Chinese ornamental screen. The Lee Dining Room is well-sized for formal dinners. Jackson Place Conference Room features a table with seating for 22 and is used as dining and a meeting room. Jackson Place Sitting Room was initially used as a parlor but today this place is used for smaller meetings.
