A Brief Intro of Supreme Court of the United States: America's Highest Judicial Body

The Supreme Court of The United States of America is the apex judicial body and is the highest governing body of the federal judiciary system.

The Supreme Court comprises of the Chief Justice of the United States. The Chief Justice presides over a team of eight other Associate Justices. The active case hearing processes of the Supreme Court of the United States of America are limited to a specific few in every year.

Only cases pertaining to significant matters and those that have a significant bearing on the law and the working of the Constitution are brought to the Supreme Court of the United States of America. The court also presides over cases entailing to the federal court and state court systems.

The justices are picked after being voted by a majority of the Senate which happens once they are personally nominated by the President of the United States. The Supreme Court of the United States of America offers its justices a lifelong tenure once they have been chosen. The tenure is considered to end only if the justices retire, die during office, resign before term or are impeached on the basis of proven misdemeanor.
